FHS Band Students Honored
On Saturday December 4, 2004 the Region 24 All-Region Band Auditions were held at Grapevine High School. Frisco High School had a strong competitive unit entered with hopes of achieving All-Region Band Honors.

After several hours of intense competition, FHS had come home with 21 students earning All-Region Band honors, 9 students earning All-Region Orchestra recognition and 10 students advancing on to the Area level as they earned All-Area Band Honors. Of these great results Kara Powell, Stephanie Pavlasek, Beth Johnston, Jeramy Johnson, Savina Valejo, and Whitney Newman were named First Chair—the top competitors in their sections.

FHS All-Region Orchestra Recognition:
 

Kristen Mayfield, Stephanie Pavlasek, Danny Colmenares, Shawna Forse, Whitney Newman, Helen Taylor, Jennifer Nichols, Kara Powell and Stephen Zhu.

Kara Powell-First Chair Piccolo, Kristen Mayfield-Second Chair Oboe, Beth Johnston-First Chair Eb Soprano Clarinet, Savina Valejo-First Chair Alto Clarinet, Stephanie Pavlasek-First Chair Bb Soprano Clarinet, Jeramy Johnson-Tenor Sax, Danny Colmenares-Fourth Chair Trumpet, Shawna Forse-Fifth Chair Trumpet, Whitney Newman-First Chair French Horn, Stephen Zhu-Seconds Chair Trombone, Lee Ann Melton-Ninth Chair Clarient, Yusong Jin-Thirteenth Chair Clarinet, Helen Taylor-Fifth Chair French Horn, Jennifer Nichols-Seventh Chair French Horn, Lauren Tresler-Fifteen Chair Clarinet.

FHS All-Region Alternates:

Kayley Carol, Travis Craig, Coleman Garrison, Megan Molidor, Katie Ritchie, and Kelly Tate were recognized as All-Region Alternates.

The All-Area winners are one step away from All-State Band Honors. They, along with the other Area Competitors will meet January 8 at Tyler Junior College to determine who is named to the Texas All-State Band.
