FISD Nurse Serves on Beyond the Bench Panel (April, 2008)

Bright Elementary nurse Karen Ross, RN, recently participated in Beyond the Bench, an educational conference presented in Dallas by the Texas Center for the Judiciary.

Ross was one of several professionals who work with children presenting to the group of judges, court officials, child advocates and others about the needs and challenges of Texas children and families. The goal of the conference was to build and strengthen services to children, youth and families by improving the coordination between various agencies.

Ross contributed information based on her experience as an elementary nurse working with a diverse student population and families from a wide spectrum of economic and cultural backgrounds.
