District-wide Immunization Clinic Offered (April, 2008)

The Collin County Health Department will provide a district-wide shot clinic from 2 to 7 p.m. at I.S. Rogers Elementary School, 10500 Rogers Road, on Tuesday, April 15, according to Gail Peterson, nurse at I.S. Rogers.

The staff of the health department will be giving immunizations to registering kindergarten students within Frisco Independent School District. Shots will also be provided for students who do not have their immunizations current. Each student, particularly older students who may not be accompanied by parent, must have signed permission slips from parents and money for the shots. The shots may cost anywhere from $5 to $14 per shot.  Students who have Medicaid or Chips receive their shots free. Information packets with permission forms are available from schools. Parents should contact their child’s school nurse if a packet is needed. If the nurse does not have a packet, he or she may have one faxed from Rogers, Peterson said.
